In simple team Yatra is an Indian word basically used for Tour, Travel and Tourism in Hinduism. It is one of the popular forms of Indian tourism in which devotee peoples travel to sacred places. This form of tourism is generally used for the Hindu tourism. Yatra generally refers to a pilgrimage to a holy site by the groups of peoples. The person who goes on a yatra is called a yatri.
Yatra is a Hindu version of the Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. In old days mostly the old persons were went for yatra but now these days peoples of all ages are preferring Yatra for travel purpose.
